Butter cream cakes use a butter-based cream rather than fresh cream in the cake. Butter cream cakes keep longer than fresh cream cakes and continue to remain soft and moist even when they are not refrigerated. Therefore they are ideal to be taken out on picnic or packed lunches or to places where refrigeration may not be easily available.
